Pre-Graduation Undergraduate Checklist

Undergraduate Pre-Graduation Checklist

Here are some suggestions to help you wrap up your studies at UCCS. Note: if you are a graduate student, please visit the Graduate School Website.

Commencement Ceremony

Use the Commencement website to answer all of your questions regarding commencement. Graduating students will receive all information via e-mail.

If you are going to be attending Commencement, don’t forget to register your attendance through the Commencement website (opens mid October for Fall ceremony and opens late March/early April for Spring ceremonies) or by responding to the registration e-mail.

Graduation Fair

Attend the Graduation Fair during the semester you are graduating for graduation information, products, and services.

If you miss the Graduation Fair, visit the UCCS Bookstore to purchase regalia and for information on ordering graduation announcements, diploma frames, and college rings.

Academics

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students must schedule a senior audit with their academic advisor the semester before they intend to graduate to determine which requirements remain for graduation.

If you are having difficulty scheduling an appointment, please contact us at 719-255-3260 or stop by Main Hall 208.

Diploma Name:
When you apply to graduate in the myUCCS portal, you can set a unique diploma name that will appear on your diploma and in the commencement program. If a diploma name is not provided, the Office of the Registrar will use your primary/legal name for the diploma and Commencement program. You can update your diploma name anytime by navigating back to your graduation application in the portal.

Graduate Students (Masters and PhD/DNP Candidates)

Graduate students who are within two semesters of completing their graduate program should meet with their program director prior to applying for graduation.

Financial

Any financial obligations you have (fines, tickets, fees, etc.) must be cleared at the Bursar’s Office in Main Hall, Room 211.

If you have borrowed any Stafford loans while earning your degree please go to the National Student Loan Database (NSLDS) to complete the Stafford Loan Exit Counseling, to see your federal loan balance, and to see who your loan servicer is as well as their contact information.

If you have borrowed any Federal Perkins Loans, all Perkins borrowers are required to complete Perkins exit counseling once they have graduated or ceased half-time enrollment. You will receive a letter from Campus Partners, a third-party servicer for the University, when your exit counseling becomes available to complete.

If you have borrowed any alternative/private loans you will need to contact the lender you borrowed from.

Career Center

Contact the T. Rowe Price Career and Innovation Center for help with your job search strategy before you graduate and continue to receive career help as an alumni.
